Can the Wii get more people into golf and other sports?
If you are talking about tiger woods 09 then most certainly not. Although an impressive game on the Xbox 360 and PS3, I say impressive, that of course goes to people who enjoy playing a golf game over a shooter. However even I will be purchasing the new Tiger Woods 10. Why on earth would I bother to do this? It’s certainly not because I’m saving money on electric golf trolleys that’s for sure. The great Nintendo motion sensing technolgy wasn't as great as it was expected to be and although great for kids it does get in the way of devlopers making half decent games for it. With the invention of the MotionPlus attachment for the Wii remote the games wil actually respond in the way that they should which means instead of disappointing fans with numerous failing games Nintendo might actually be able to get half decent devlopers behind them to make fairly decent games that can use the technology properly.
When the weather is grim and there is no way that you are going to be able to get out and play on the local course all you have to do is turn the Wii on and you can get going without even having to brave any of the weather. You get to feel al the stress of a real golfer by deciding on what club to choose, what the wind direction is and how hard you actually have to hit the ball.
The new game which is due out later this year will sell more than than last years edition that much is certain. Many people who really cant play the sport at all like myself wil find that Tiger Woods makes golf a lot easier and even if you do continue to fail at least you are in the home enviroment and not the middle of a packed golf course where everyone can see you. A great bonus to having this game is that you can swear and shout as loud as you want without the worry of someone kicking you of the course for being too loud! A few years ago I helped out the greenkeepers at the local golf course and I will say there is no way playing golf on the Wii will beat watching people try to play on the course and fail miserably, however it could improve things that can help your game like the way you swing as well as hand eye co-ordination.
The best thing of all is that you no longer have to charge golf batteries up, just walk into the room, pick up the remote and have a game!

The next 2 packs both costs 800 Microsoft Points and they are called the Combustible Multiplayer Map Pack which contains 3 new maps and also the brand new Snowblind Multiplayer Map Pack.
If first person shooter games are not really your thing, then how about some extra content for the best skating game out there, Skate 2. There are 5 content packs available on the Xbox 360 Marketplace and they include things from new areas to new film features. First there is the San Van Classic Pack which allows you to skate in 3 areas from the first game, there is also some new achievements to unlock in each of these areas, this pack will cost you 800 MS points. The next pack is the Drydek’s Fantasy Plaza Pack, this one will cost you 400 MS points and it allows you to skate around the inspiration for Rob Drydek’s Fantasy Factory show. The last few packs don’t contain any new maps, however, they do add new features and items to the game. The first one being the Filmer Pack, this costs 600 MS points and allows you to update the film feature with new angles, views and add some extra finishing touches to make your movies even better. If you fancy changing the look of your skate then this next pack is for you, it’s called the Throwback Pack and it’s free, so no reason not to get it and it basically comes with new apparel for your skater. The final pack is called Time is Money Pack and costs 400 MS points, this pack allows you to unlock all the skaters, areas and gear for your skater.
Reaching the end of the post here, just a little bit more. The next game is Mirror’s Edge, so if you love to race across building tops against the clock then you should get your hands on this pack. It’s called the Pure Time Trials Pack and will costs you 800 MS points, and what you get for your money is 9 new time trials across 7 whole new areas, there are no cops and no guns to slow you down, just pure agility maps that push you to the limit and get you playing at your best. Once again, there are a range of new achievements available for this pack.
The last game is the list is going to be the huge hit, Fallout 3. This has 2 packs which extend the campaign of the game taking you to new areas and facing new enemies. Both of these packs cost 800 MS points, the first one is The Pitt, this one requires you to travel to Pittsburgh, now called The Pitt, and uncover the secret that has caused the people of The Pitt to be attacked by disease and mutation. The second pack is the Operation: Anchorage pack which takes you into the military campaign where you have to fight against Chinese Communist Invaders, but you can leave your old weapons behind as you can get your hands on some of the new gear available like the Gauss Rifle.

And original and true side scroller spaceship game this game is seriously as addictive now as it was then. I find myself flying and shooting for hours when the challenges and complexities of the modern games get to be too much.
Buku Sudoku is the last one up. This game offers 360 variations of the traditional Sudoku puzzle and gives me hours of puzzle fun. A true thinking man’s game this one will again keep me busy for hours on end as I try to get through the different maze of puzzles.
