Locations for PvP Combat

When people start talking about PvP combat, it soon becomes clear that there are various settings where it can happen. This short guide to the settings will make it easier for you to find PvP combat when you want it, as well as understand what everyone else is talking about! Here’s your introduction to each setting:

Fighting Duels

Duels are one-on-one battles between players. You can duel pretty much anywhere you want, except within cities. You’ll often find players who are looking for a duel hanging around outside the entrances to major cities looking for someone to challenge.

The Battlegrounds

The battlegrounds are areas where Horde and Alliance compete to earn marks. You can use marks sort of like money, and trade them in for various items, including better PvP gear. You can only use marks at the special PvP vendor shops.

Arenas

Arena combat is an organized, ongoing tournament. Teams (2v2, 3v3, 5v5) battle against other teams of the opposing faction as well as against teams of their own faction. You become a member of a team to fight in the arena and earn Arena Points as a team.

Random PvP

Random combat can happen whenever you run into an enemy player who has their PvP flag set. In PvP realms, that flag is always set, except in a few protected areas, you’re always open to attack. You can manually turn your PvP flag on and off by typing /pvp. Regardless of what you do, various situations and locations will turn your PvP flag on automatically, even if you aren’t playing in a PvP realm.

World PvP Combat

Some zones have goals that involve PvP. To complete these you’ll need to be ready to fight. Zones with these kinds of goals include, the Eastern Plaguelands, Silithus, Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, Terokkar Forest, and Nagrand.

The PvP Zones

Wintergrasp is the first of a new type of zone that is totally dedicated to PvP combat. This zone seems to be real popular, so expect more like it in the future.

What Next?

You should now have a basic understanding of the different settings where you can find PvP combat. But if you want to dominate PvP combat, or even hold your own against more experienced players, there’s a lot more you should learn. To learn everything you need to know, including the newest strategies & tactics that will show you how to dominate all aspects of PvP, visit PvP-Bible.info

Three Neglected Secrets to WoW PvP Success

March 25, 2009 by admin · Comment

World of Warcraft Player versus Player combat is one of the best and most challenging parts of the WoW experience. Leading your allies into battle is great fun, and once you start getting good at it, well it’s a complete blast. But when you PvP combat] it is confusing and sometimes frustrating. And even if you’re a long-time player versus player combat veteran, it’s not hard to forget some of the basics. I know this from personal experience. Especially once you get good at taking out opposing players, it’s easy to get caught up in the action and forget some of the basics that got you where you are now in the first place.

So let’s talk about three key tactics you need to apply whether you’re new to this whole PvP thing, or are already kicking butt at a high level in WotLK.

First, you need to be able to heal yourself, at least a little. You may be brutally efficient at taking out the enemy quickly, and you may have healers along to take care of messy details like keeping you breathing, but when it comes to the crunch, you had better be carrying some potions and bandages for emergencies. Do you really want to die because the healer you were counting on was busy elsewhere on the battlefield, or ran low on mana, or just got distracted when you needed him most?

Second, learn about macros. Learn how to make them, then make them for all your key actions, and use them. When your foes are all around you, and you’re deep in the middle of the mayhem, getting off that spell or using that special ability fast is essential. Once you create and become skilled with macros for your special abilities and important spells, you’ll have a leg up on all your competitors who aren’t as well-prepared as you are.

Third, keep in mind that sometimes a good defense is just as important as a good offense. This is where getting caught up in the moment can really cause problems. What good does it do to capture a base or take a flag, then lose it right away because no one stayed around to protect it? The blood lust driving you to hunt down and slaughter one more foe can be almost irresistible, but sometimes the right thing you can do for your self and your side is to stay on the defensive.

Master these 3 fundamentals, and keep them in mind when you’re in combat, and you’ll be a better, more popular PvPer. Still, information like this, and even your own growing skill will only get you so far. To really rule in PvP combat, you’re gonna need help.

To advance to the highest levels of player versus player combat, you need the experience and insights of the very best PvP gamers. You can either try to find a mentor in the game who will teach you, or you can invest in a PvP Guide. The best PvP guides include much more than basic information like in this article. They are filled with specific, detailed information and guidance for each and every type of character. And that information will come from the very best PvP players. The top PvP guides will gather and organize that information for you, along with providing updates whenever a new patch like WotLK comes out.

If you want to dominate WoW Player versus Player combat, you need the best guide. Go to http://PvP-Bible.info to learn more about that guide.

Dominate PvP Using a Death Knight PvP Guide

March 24, 2009 by admin · Comment

A new player class, the Death Knight, now terrorizes WoW PvP arenas and battlegrounds. Trained in forbidden magics by the Lich King himself, playing a Death Knight in PvP is an exciting new option. If you choose to play a Death Knight, you will have access to a new mix of melee and casting skills, resulting in the opportunity to craft a singularly deadly character. Thanks to the wide range of skills this class offers, you you have access to any PvP combat style from melee to support caster, to healer. Make the right decisions and learn the pros and cons of this class and you could soon be leaving a trail of terror, not to mention diseased and dying opponents, wherever you tread in PvP battlegrounds.

Perhaps your most important consideration as a PvP Death Knight is your talent tree. With three major talent lines, Frost, Blood, and Unholy, your play style and the talents you choose will be intimately related. Choosing Blood talents will make your character more like a Warrior, with high DPS physical attacks, while Unholy talents will give you diseases and summoning to throw at your enemies. Meanwhile, specific Frost talents will aid you along either of the other lines. While of course your personal play style has a big effect, the right mix of Frost and Unholy talents may well be the ultimate Death Knight PvP build. Regardless, the way you fight in PvP will figure mightily into deciding the best way to build out your Death Knight.

Beyond deciding on the best way to spec out your Death Knight, you need to have some idea of how to take on the other player classes, in PvP and how they are likely to do battle with you. Everything to do with Death Knights is new and confusing. Getting advice from the top PvP players could make a huge difference against other PvP combatants.

With all these things to consider, it’s no wonder that a Death Knight PvP guide can make a huge difference in your success. Even though no one has the depth of experience with Death Knights as they do with, say, Warriors or Mages, many of the most experienced World of Warcraft PvP already have Death Knight experience that they share in newly-updated PvP Guides. Getting the top guide to playing a Death Knight in PvP combat can save you many hours of trial and error as you get your character ready to dominate the arena.

Find out how your Death Knight can dominate the battlefield and achieve more than a 2200 honor rating in as little as 38 days with the PvP Bible. Visit this review site to discover more about this great Death Knight PvP Guide, or order your copy of the Guide right now at: http://ThePvPBible.info.

Use a Rogue PvP Guide to Dominate in Player Versus Player Combat

March 20, 2009 by admin · Comment

Playing a Rogue class character in WoW Player versus Player combat can be amazing fun. Rogues have so many unique skills (like stealth and poisoning), they can frustrate and kill their foes in ways no other class can. At the same time, all these unique skills can make Rogue PvP combat very complex. In short, playing a Rogue in PvP is an exciting challenge.

When played well, a Rogue is the best DPS (Damage Per Second) dealer in the arena. Not only that, but Rogues have a Hunter’s speed and the hand-to-hand combat ability of a Warrior, not to mention the crowd control ability of a Warlock. If you can master your Rogue’s varied abilities, you can challenge the Druids for domination of the arena.

What really makes Rogues so dangerous in PvP combat is their combination attacks. By using the right combinations, called Stunlocks, a Rogue can completely disable certain player classes, killing them before they even get off an attack! The trick is to learn the combinations to use against each type of enemy, then execute them efficiently in the middle of a battle.

Learning all the things you need to know about Rogue PvP combat is hard. Understanding and perfecting stunlocks is hard enough, with their precise timing and detailed positioning. But that’s just the beginning. You can’t forget the use of poisons, dropping combat, and evasion, yet more precision skills that you must master. Getting all this right isn’t easy to do on your own. Fortunately for you, others have gone down this road before you, and written down all the important stuff in PvP Guide books. Getting the top Rogue PvP Guide can save you many hours of trial and error as you get your character ready to dominate the arena.

Learn how your Rogue can come to dominate the PvP battlefield and score above a 2200 honor rating in as little as 38 days with the PvP Bible. Visit ThePvPBible.com to learn more about this great Rogue PvP Guide, which includes coverage of Wrath of the Lich King, or order your copy of the Guide here.

Rule Player Versus Player Using this Hunter PvP Guide

March 20, 2009 by admin · Comment

If you want to be a Hunter in PvP combat, it would be helpful to have the instincts of a hunter. Why? Because you’re going to need to be able to pick out your next target and understand how it will respond to your attack. You need this knowledge so you can hunt it down and terminate it. You need to understand your own capabilities, your gear, and the tactical situation. Then you need to position yourself and terminate your prey with extreme prejudice before it can take you down. In WoW PvP, it’s much the same, except that your prey is smarter and more cunning than any animal.

But playing a hunter in PvP involves much more than that. You need to know when and how to deploy your Freezing and Frost Traps and essential crowd control devices is necessary but not enough. You also need to know how to maintain the ideal distance between you and your opponents to cause the most possible DPS damage in each fight. And you must do all this against an intelligent character, rather than a wild animal.

If you want to be really successful in Hunter PvP combat, you need to understand the behavior of each enemy class and have a strategy for dealing with them. It’s particularly important to understand how Druids or Warriors or Rogues are likely to come at you. At the same time, you have to have a strategy for countering quick charges into hand-to-hand combat range by Warriors and Rogues.

You can learn much of what you need to win as a Hunter in PvP simply by spending time in the arena. But from my own personal experience, if you try this you can expect to get defeated regularly and be humiliated for a long time. I spent many frustrating hours ranking last or near last in the standings when I tried. It wasn’t until I picked up a Hunter PvP Guide that I started climbing in the standings rapidly.

Even if you do decide to learn the ins and outs of Hunter PvP combat yourself, you’ll find that a quality PvP Guide will contain information that you’re unlikely to discover on your own. It will teach you the key things you need to know, saving you a big block of time you would otherwise have to spend dying in battle before you become skilled at PvP combat.

Find out how your Hunter can dominate the PvP battlefield and score above a 2200 honor rating in just a few weeks with the PvP Bible. Visit PvP-Bible.info to learn more about this great Hunter PvP Guide, which includes coverage of Wrath of the Lich King, or get your copy of the Guide here.

Dominate Player Versus Player Combat Using a Mage PvP Guide

March 20, 2009 by admin · Comment

Playing a Mage in in World of Warcraft’s PvP combat has a special feel. After all, the ability to use magic is one of the hallmarks of fantasy role playing games. Mage characters live and die by the way they use mana and their understanding of the strengths and vulnerabilities of the types of characters you go up against in combat.. Playing a Mage in PvP is a real challenge, but one with real benefits.

It almost goes without saying that if you want to be successful in Player versus Player combat, you have to know your opponent and understand their strengths and weaknesses. This is especially important for Mages, since wasting mana on the wrong tactics likely signs your death warrant. When you run out of mana, you are incapable of mitigating damage, controlling crowds, or much of anything else. The standard tactics that you’ll find for free online, or in low-quality PvP Guides suggests hammering whatever comes your way as hard as possible right away to keep them off you.

But that advice is too simplistic. There are lots of exceptions to the general rule. Frost Mages have powerful defenses in their Ice Block and Frost Nova spells. That means they are much more robust than the usual caster, and don’t have to worry about dying the second their opponent gets close to them. That’s just one concept you need to master to dominate the arena as a Mage.

Experience has shown that you can be highly effective in PvP with a Mage, but it is hard to master all the skills you’ll need. With so many ways you can mess up while working out your tactical kinks, a Mage PvP Guide is crucial to turning your Mage into an effective PvP combatant. This kind of knowledge is particularly valuable when going up against a class like the Warlock, which seems custom-designed to kill Mages. And with the release of Wrath of the Lich King (WOTLK), life has changed significantly for Mages. You absolutely must have a PvP Guide that accounts for these changes to have any hope of rising into the elite.

Even if you do decide to learn the ins and outs of Mage PvP combat yourself, you’ll find that a quality PvP Guide will contain information that you’re unlikely to discover on your own. In short, a good PvP Guide will save you a big block of time you would otherwise have to spend dying in battle before you become skilled at PvP combat.

Using a Priest PvP Guide to Rule PvP

March 19, 2009 by admin · Comment

Competing in WoW PvP combat as a Priest requires a lot of forethought and planning. With an impressive amount of mana and all sorts of heals, a Priest can be a strong PvP combatant. However, since they have a low health level and no armor, if an opponent can get past your Priest’s defenses, it’s all over. If you’re going to do well in Priest PvP combat, you have to have a smart strategy. If you don’t have a solid strategy, expect your Priest to be doing more dying than winning.

By default, Priests are the healers in any player versus player group battles. But they don’t have to be. Holy and Discipline Priests are extremely useful as part of arena or battleground groups, where they buff and debuff characters generally filling the classic healer role. Shadow Priests, on the other hand can be powerful DPS (Damage Per Second) dealers, with the added bonus of being able to heal when necessary. Whether your Priest provides aid and healing to your party, or kicks enemy tail on the attack largely depends on how you develop and play the class.

A Priest can be extremely effective against many classes - they can crowd control with Fear and deal DoTs (Damage Over Time) spells, while at the same time, they can dispell most any spell an opponent casts. However, when battling some other classes, Priests are in real danger. For example, an unskilled Priest has little hope of survival against a Rogue.

With so many possible outcomes, using a quality Priest PvP Guide is crucial. A good guide will not only show you strategies and tactics your Priest can use against each class, but will give the Priest a good idea about how other classes will approach the fight too. A quality Priest PvP Guide provides more than just a few standard strategies for Priests. It will show you exactly how to take on all of the other classes in solo combat. And it should show how the Priest, in each of its three specs (Holy, Discipline, and Shadow), can best fit into a 2v2, 3v3, or 5v5 team.

Even if you do decide to learn the ins and outs of Priest PvP combat yourself, you’ll find that a quality PvP Guide will contain information that you’re unlikely to discover on your own. It will teach you the most important things to know, saving you vast amounts of time and energy you would otherwise spend on trial and error.

Using a Paladin PvP Guide to Dominate PvP Combat

March 17, 2009 by admin · Comment

WoW Paladins are a schizophrenic bunch. On the one hand, they’re almost as good in hand-to-hand combat as Warriors. On the other hand, they can heal themselves and others like Priests do. This schizoid behavior carries over into World of Warcraft Paladin PvP combat, meaning that you really need to understand both sides of your character’s personality to succeed in player versus player combat.

A Paladin can play a few different roles in the arena. In duels, their ability to heal themselves makes them frustrating and dangerous opponents. With a full load of mana, Paladins can heal back from almost any level of damage once or twice and essentially more than double their health bar. This makes it possible for them to absorb huge amounts of damage and still remain standing. When playing as part of a group, A Paladin will often end up in a support role, fighting when necessary, while also providing bubbles, blessings, heals, and combat assistance throughout the battlefield in ways that no other class can do.

While playing a Paladin offers many benefits, the Paladin class has its shortcomings too. In the best of circumstances, a Paladin doesn’t have a lot of mana to work with, and once it is gone, a Paladin is much less powerful and much more vulnerable. Even when their mana reserve is full, Paladins often find it hard to get close enough to Hunters and Mages to even be able to hit them. Understanding how to make the best use of their mana, and understanding how to fight against each of the opposing classes is the secret to PvP success for a Paladin class character. As with other WoW classes, learning what you need to know by personal experience is bloody, frustrating, and time consuming.

Avoiding that long and bloody stuff is a great reason to invest in a Paladin PvP Guide. A quality guide will give you a detailed blueprint for fighting against each other character class. But it will include much more that that. A quality PvP Guide will teach you just about everything there is to know about achieving victory with your Paladin in each player versus player environment, whether dueling one-on-one or as part of a group.

Rule PvP with this Warrior PvP Guide

March 14, 2009 by admin · Comment

Playing a Warrior class character in World of Warcraft PvP seems straightforward. Find the enemy, then hack him to pieces! But it isn’t really that simple at all. Let me explain.

As you would imagine, Warriors excel at dealing massive amounts of physical damage to anything they get close to. Surprisingly, the best Warriors are more concerned about dealing with spellcasters than they are about losing a sword fight. The reason for this is simple. Only Paladins and other Warriors can survive for more than a few seconds in hand to hand combat with a skilled Warrior. But everything changes if their opponents have powerful magic on their side.

In PvP situations, a Warrior seldom gets into many close-in duels. You’re more likely to end up trying to chase down spell casters and ranged fighters like Hunters than you are to duel other Warriors. This means strategy and tactics are necessary.

A Warrior’s biggest problem is getting close enough to an opponent to bring sword or axe to bear, and staying long close enough to kill the target. The other classes know better than to get you get too close, and will be doing everything they can to stay out of your range. This means you will need to understand and effectively use Warrior-specific skills such as Charge to start battles and Intercept to close the gap while in battle. Once close, your Warrior will need to use other skills like Hamstring and Intimidating Shout to keep your quarry close, then load up on rage and hit the opponent as hard as possible.

Further complicating things is the way that casters and ranged fighters will be slowly sapping your strength with their annoying spells and puny arrows. For this reason, you must learn how to use your defensive stances and spell reflects to minimize the harm they do to you, master the timing of Intercept and Hamstring, while always being to unload as much damage as possible when you get the chance. That’s a lot to figure out on your own. A quality Warrior PvP Guide can give you the knowledge you need to master all this without spending hundreds of hours experimenting and practicing.

With the right Warrior PvP Guide, you’ll quickly learn how to defeat the other character classes in those situations where weapons skill and combat rage alone are not enough. It will teach you how to battle against any opponent on your own terms and how to counteract ranged and casting fighters. A top-notch Warrior PvP Guide will also show you how to apply your rage and crowd control abilities together to catch and slaughter your foes.

Finally, since a quality PvP Guide incorporates the hard-earned combat lore of veteran Warriors, it will contain strategies and tactics that you’re unlikely to discover on your own until you too had spend hundreds of hours reaping mayhem in PvP. It will teach you the key things you need to know, without your having to expend vast amounts of time on trial and error learning.

Find out how your Warrior can come to dominate the PvP battlefield and score above a 2200 honor rating in as little as 38 days with the PvP Bible. Visit PvP-Bible.info to learn more about this great Warrior PvP Guide, which has been updated to cover the Wrath of the Lich King, or get your own copy right now at: http://ThePvPBible.info.

Using a Warlock PvP Guide to Dominate Player Versus Player Combat

March 6, 2009 by admin · Comment

Playing a Warlock class character in World of Warcraft PvP makes you a powerhouse, especially Arena play. Warlocks are downright nasty to fight against. With their ability to literally curse other classes to death, Warlocks are often feared, even hated, in Player versus Player combat. But they’re not indestructible, and are vulnerable to any class of opponent, provided that opponent knows how to counteract the Warlock’s abilities.

A Warlock in PvP is actually a simple class to play. The basic strategy is to hit an opposing character with tons of DoT (Damage Over Time) spells, then cast Fear on them repeatedly. Do this enough times and the opponent dies.

Warlocks also can drain mana from other characters and can regenerate their own health. On top of that, they can be optimized to be extremely dangerous against casters due to their Felhunter, a pet seemingly designed to slaughter mages. To sum it all up, if you know what you are doing, your Warlock can defeat any other character class.

That said, if you don’t know what you’re doing, your Warlock is going to be dying fast and often in Player versus Player combat. With no combat ability outside their casting, Warlocks are at the mercy of any character that is able to drain their mana, remove their curses, or resist their fears. Knowing how to deal with such pesky opponents is a key to victory as a Warlock. This is where a quality Warlock PvP Guide will transform your game.

So while Warlocks are incredibly powerful, they will go down before certain opponents if they don’t know the proper strategies and tactics. A quality PvP Guide helps you to acquire those strategies and tactics, based on the hard-earned experience of other Warlocks who have already mastered them. Without such a Guide, you’re doomed to many hours of experimentation and endless deaths while you try to figure out what you need to know yourself.

For a more concrete example,, let’s talk about Priests. A Priest has the ability to drain a Warlock’s mana. And as we’ve already discussed, without mana to cast spells, a Warlock is doomed. To make things worse, Priests can dispel your curses. This makes taking out a Priest difficult for a Warlock. But the best Warlocks know all the ways that they can counter a Priest. You can put in the time and effort to discover those ways yourself, or you can find them in the pages of a good Warlock PvP Guide.

The top Guides contain predefined strategies for combat against each of the opposing character classes. Once you learn those strategies, you have a solid base for adaptation and improvisation in the heat of battle.

In a quality Guide, you’ll learn what and when to cast against each opposing classand how to respond to their attacks. You’ll know how to take on each class in one on one duels, and what to do as part of a 2v2, 3v3, or 5v5 team.

Even if you do decide to learn the ins and outs of Warlock PvP combat yourself, you’ll find that a quality PvP Guide will contain information that you’re unlikely to discover on your own. It will teach you the key things you need to know, saving you a big block of time you would otherwise have to spend dying in battle before you become good at PvP combat.

Learn the secrets to dominating the battlefield as a Warlock and and reach a 2200 honor rating in as little as 38 days with the best PvP Guide, or order your own copy right now at: http://ThePvPBible.info
