Can’t create a new project
Hi,
I’m having a problem creating an XNA project in VS2005 Pro. Here’s what I’ve done:
I have Visual Studio 2005 Professional, and I’ve been trying to get XNA to work.
First I installed the correct Service Pack from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BB4A75AB-E2D4-4C96-B39D-37BAF6B5B1DC&displaylang=en
Then I installed XNA Game Studio 2.0. from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=DF80D533-BA87-40B4-ABE2-1EF12EA506B7&displaylang=en
No problems during installation.
Now, whenever I go to create a new XNA project (Windows Game, Spacewar Starter Kit, etc.), I get the following error.
“The operation could not be completed. Not enough storage is available to complete the operation.”
Then, in the output box, I get this error repeated several times:
“The Windows Forms Designer Hosting Package ({68939055-38E0-4D17-92CB-8909710D8178}) did not load because of previous errors. For assistance, contact the package vendor. To attempt to load this package again, type ‘devenv /resetskippkgs’ at the command prompt.”
After this, VS hangs, and I cannot do anything else “This operation cannot be completed. The process terminated unexpectedly” and I must end the process through task manager.
My machine has over 15gb free space, and I have 1gb RAM, and I don’t expect it to all be being used. I’m running Windows XP. I can create other types of projects and run them just fine, but anything under the Visual C# -> XNA Game Studio 2.0 will give me the described error.
I’ve looked around and can’t find anything relating to this problem.
Steps I’ve taken to fix the problem that didn’t work:
Rebooting
Reinstall XNA
Repair .NET Framework installation
Things I would rather not do:
Reinstall VS2005 - (my installation copy is back at college, i’m home for winter break)
I appreciate any and all help.
Thank you,
